We've worked hard to curate a list of “must have” whiskeys, focusing on fabulous Scotchs and Bourbons. Each month, you can expect a new 750ml bottle of fantastic whiskey at your door that you won't forget. Cancel at any time. No bogus cancellation fees.
Learn All About It
To us, whiskey is about more than how it tastes. Each bottle is accompanied with our own unique 'Whiskey 101' course material. Members learn whiskey by learning about a given month's selection, production techniques, trends and history.
Choose Bourbon or Scotch
Our clubs specialize in both Bourbon & Scotch. Both are equally delicious, but appeal to different folks. You'll pick one or the other and how long you would like to be a part the club.
Bourbon and Scotch are actually two different types of "Whiskey", which is a general term to define a distilled spirit made from fermented grain.
Bourbon is a type of whiskey made exclusivey in the USA. It tends to taste sweeter than Scotches and is often associated with flavors based in vanilla and caramel*. The grain used to make it is primarily corn.
All Bourbons are:
Made in America
Distilled from grain that consists of at least 51% corn
Distilled at not greater than 160 proof
Stored at not more than 125 proof in new, charred oak containers
Scotch is a type of whiskey made exclusively in Scotland. It tends to create smooth, earthy flavors and can often be smokey, too*. The grain used is primarly malted barley - in the case of a Single Malt, only malted barley is used.
All Scotches are:
Made in Scotland
Distilled from malted barley and can include other grain
*Please excuse the gross oversimplification with flavors, but hey, you've got to start somewhere! Each Scotch and Bourbon has many complex and different flavors, these are just what is often associated with the category.
Here's What They're Saying.
Since Jan '12
I heard about Taster's Club from a friend so I decided to give it a shot (pun intented!), and I've been hooked ever since. It's convenient, affordable and educational. Without putting any thought or effort into it, I get a new, premium bottle of whiskey delivered to my door each month from distilleries all over the country. The background on each whiskey paired with the 'Whiskey 101' course gives me a deeper knowledge and appreciation for each one I receive.
Since March '13
I was searching for a unique and useful anniversary gift for my husband that wasn't boring and suited his tastes. He loves receiving the different types of Whiskey each month, and has learned a lot more about the different types as well. He enjoys sharing it with his friends and his collection has grown with unique flavors and types he normally wouldn't have the opportunity to purchase.
